A Letter to My Teenage Daughter on Her 16th Birthday

Happy Birthday my princess!!
Today you are going to enter in the teen years and I so happy for you. It feels like a yesterday when you were born and today you are a big girl. Memories of your early years are still so fresh. I can still recall the day when I held you in my arms for the first time and the world changed for me. I had the most precious thing in the world in my life and I had no idea how I will raise you. But together, we have grown up and we have come a long way. I can never forget the day when you called me “Ma” the first time, the day you turned one, the first day of your school when you cried badly.
For all these years, watching you grow into a beautiful and wonderful girl, I feel so happy and contented. As a mother, I was always worried about you but now when I look at you, all my worries are gone because I know you are a big girl, who is sincere and disciplined. I know that you have all the values we gave you and you will always be the person your parents want you to be. By saying this, I don’t want to burden you with expectations but I just want to tell you that we trust you for being a good child.
As you are going to grow, you would experience new things in life. There will be new challenges face, new opportunities to embrace but there is just one thing you must always remember that whatever be the situation, always listen to your heart and do what you feel is the right thing to do. Never let the wrong affect you because you are a good soul and you must always stay like that.
You are my perfect daughter and you will always be perfect to me. No matter how much disagreements we have, we will always be bonded together. And I will love you unconditionally.
